“Burn!” Kajiya hissed as she summoned the magic, whirling around to face her attacker.
Suddenly, her hand burst into a blue and white-pink flame, and with it, the Narine into light.
Kajiya’s fur stood on end. The spiede was just as the legends had said, more than twice her size, and nine times as fearsome. It had four large hairy legs, all of which narrowed to a terrifying point that didn’t seem like it could support the spiede’s weight. It had a large abdomen, a small, almost non-existent midsection from which all four of its legs sprung, and a massive head nearly four times the size of Kajiya’s own.
It had two large pincers, and two long thin mandibles with deadly-looking fangs. And it had six eyes. Two of its large eyes were side by side in the middle of its face, with two smaller eyes on each side of its face. The larger eyes were as big as Kajiya’s face, and were the first, and only thing she could see.
Suddenly, without warning, the circular pupils of the spiede dilated so quickly that the iris closed up. The creature let out a terrifying screech, blind.
